In the Miami area there is ample oppurtunity to play lacrosse. The Makos, Miami's men's team playes in the Florida Lacrosse League (FLL). The boy's and girl's high school teams, as well as the boy's middle school teams play in the South Florida High School Lacrosse League (SFHSLL). The Miami Summer League has now grown into the Maimi Lacrosse Leagues, with play throughout the year.

Miami Lacrosse Leagues was started in 2000 to give the members of the Miami Makos, and players from the local high school programs a place to play during the summer The Miami Lacrosse Leagues has grown to now include two fall league, and a winter mini league, these are the premier leagues in the Miami. The Miami Lacrosse Leagues are sponsored by the Miami Lacrosse Association, Raynond James Financial, Wallman Financial and Lacrossewear.

Summer League started out with 25 players, in the ntire league, and now has over 200 players in four divisions. This year the summer league added a girls division, to complement the boys/mens divisions. This has turned into Miami's premier summer league. Miami Summer Lacrosse League

Tropical Park Fall League was started this year to give our lacrosse athletes, that are not involved in a fall sport a chance to build their skills. The fall league will utilize coaches from around Miami Dade County to coach four high school teams, two to three middle school teams and one or two youth teams. The Miami Lacrosse League has entered into agreements with other leagues to not only provide in league games for its teams, but to play inter-league games as well. This is a boy's league. The Florida Lacrosse League is a men's league made up of two divisions. Division I has eight Post Collegiate Teams and Division II has one Post Collegiate Teams and four College Club Teams. The FLL was founded in 1973 and has been growing ever since. With the growth of youth, middle school, high school, and college lacrosse in Florida, the FLL should also begin to add teams.
